I am 5 weeks into a pretty decent cycle and got up to around 290 a few weeks ago. Im down to around 275 and have been thinking about the health I am in lately. Being 27 I almost want to just cut my cycle in half dose wise and lose weight and be healthy. I loved doing my show and want to do another one someday soon. I guess with being tired and sore all the time I wonder if its worth it anymore to "get HUGE".. I could cut down to 240 and just be a big guy and lean and live healthy. Maybe I am just rambling like a biotch but I have had some anxiety and lethargic feeling that I havent had before on cycle. Test is up to 1000 a week and EQ is 800. I think I am going to cut dose in half and do more cardio to lean out. I guess I have just been doing alot of thinking lately that Id rather just be lean and healthy than a freak. I mean going to the store, walking up stairs and even bending over for more than 3 seconds cause me to get dizzy and tired. I found ou tmy BP is high as well. I just dont want to get to the point I get burnt out or get hurt. I am getting married in the next year or so and want to settle down with a family. You can still do BB'ing and balance all that but thats is the KEY WORD...BALANCE!! I am just wondering if you guys ever feel like that?? I will always want to be healthy and make gains but I dont think these monster cycles and excess weight is healthy for me..... Ok crying is over...lol Just sometimes think I neglect alot for something that should be more of a balanced life.

C, do what you think would help you better yourself in terms of heath. if you think cutting down to a healthy 230-240 would benefit that, then go for it. being that heavy is not natural, weather it's 275 and 40% bf, or 275 and 12%...so blood pressure would always be an issue i'd think. you can always look back and be a "used to" guy...."i used to be almost 300lbs" lol.j/k. i say go for it.

Re: Been doing some thinking.......lol
Health first man. I know a pro powerlifter who wound up givin it all up for that very thing. He was 275 at around 5'9" and was gettin a little burned out with it all. One day he was out playin with his kid and he fell out, scared the hell outa his boy. His bp was up, enzymes up, etc... and decided that although competitive lifting is his passion, his kids are his life.

Re: Been doing some thinking.......lol
Corrodo, I can relate to how you feel. I will be 50 in November and am at a steady 260-265. I have about 15% BF, but am getting to the point I am tired of all the heavy lifting and continous soreness every day. I can't reach across myself to scratch my shoulder or my back. Luckily I have a thoughtful wife.
I have tried several times to talk myself into lowering the weights, increasing the reps and cardio and get down to the 230-240 range. Just every time I get in the gym, my younger workout partner says he needs me to push him, and I can't do that with lighter weights.
I know, like you said, the 230-240 range will be better in the long run for joints and health.Just got to make myself do it. Hope it works out for you also. Keep us posted on your decission. My be asking you for some help with getting me to slow down a little!Push it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!
Take nothing I say as serious, What do I know, I sell water!!

Re: Been doing some thinking.......lol
I was just talking about this with a guy on another board. I was cutting for a while and I got down to 257ish. Anyway, the low carbs were killing me and I went back to bulking. I got on the scale yesterday and looked down and it said 292. 294 is my previous high, but I am almost certainly going over 300 this cycle. I wonder all the time if its worth it to be big, but I will tell you what I told the guy yesterday. I have been so big for so long that if I had to go back to being 220 I would cry myself to sleep at night. It is an addiction.

Re: Been doing some thinking.......lol
The decision here is obvious. At age 27 you should be thinking about the future, because it is here. Am I correct in assuming that you have been on and off gear for a while now? At 270-280 gear-assisted pounds, you are putting great strain on your cardiovascular system. How much do you think you would weight had you never done gear? 200-220? Well, think about it--thats 50-60 extra pounds on your frame that your genetics were not programmed to handle. If you cannot look at training from a health standpoint and stop the abuse, you have a problem. just like any substance, you will be in a dependency/abuse situation. a 27 year old man should be able to bend over and tie his shoes w/o dizziness. your body is telling you something. you want a life, stop the gear.-----+++DrugFree4Life+++-----

Re: Been doing some thinking.......lol
Corrodo - it's late and I have to get to bed, but I read your first post and I CAN relate. I am a lean 241 as of this morning. My cycle is a bit high on EQ but very, very, low on test and npp (it's almost a joke!). It pales in comparison to some of my other cycles.
I will read the rest of the thread and give you some more feedback when I get to work tomorrow.
I don't think it's necessary to stop all the supps and I think the copious amounts of food would also have something to do with the bigger pictures but again. I'll reply more tomorrow. I have to get up and train in a few hours and I just got home from a 14 hour work day.

Re: Been doing some thinking.......lol
Thanks for the responses guys. First of all lets get a few things straight. I am in NO health(the dizzy comment was a bit brash but most know what I mean about bending over at times or trying to get out of your recliner, it takes some work and some leverage...lol) hazard or even high bodyfat. I am 275-280 at 12%ish. I dont abuse gear and if you know me know this is the biggest cycle I have ever ran. I WAS 235 BEFORE I EVER TOUCHED gear when I was around 22. I am just wanting to have a convo with guys that have this cross there mind and discuss what and why we do what we do. It is an addiction that only serious lifters/competitors can understand. I have always said my main goal was to hit it hard and compete until I was 30 and then back off and focus on health. So this is nothing new for me to think about, but I was curious who has done it and how it was, as stated by waterboy its hard to do as it is a lifetsyle. I am a mild cycler up until this recent one and get my blood work done bi-annually and dont ABUSE anything. I will forever workout but just thinking when the right time is to pullback is all....I guess that is up to each individual and what they want out of life. However I know we all think about these things at times and if it is worth it to go at it year after year... So just an open convo about it is all I was wanting to accomplish. Thanks to everyone who feels where I am coming from and responded.
