The new movie hes directing looks awesome

      Into the Wild
INTO THE WILD is based on a true story and the bestselling book by Jon Krakauer. After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless (Hirsch) abandons his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life. Written by Lisa Kelley

I agree Fuzo - those are two great movies, and penn plays his roles as well as they could be.

ive seen into the wild twice now..one of my favorite movies..directing is amazing, acting is better, great narration, true/amazing story and ed vedder did the whole soundtrack..Not sure all you would love it as much as me, i just envy the main characters life style..definately will win awards and is worth seeing.

I'm going to say I am Sam was his best by far. When I watch that movie I am just blown away after thinking about roles like Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. By the way, did you guys know that Nicolas Cage was in Fast Times?
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

I think "The Game" was another one of his best.
I got to admit, he's come a long way since "Fast Times At Ridgemont High".

You're kidding. That was his best movie.

Just kidding. He is a great actor. I just can't stand his politics.
