Broke my damn leg today! I was up a ladder cuttin down some lower tree limbs and the last one fell a little differently than I had planned. One end smacked the ladder, the other headed for my face and when it was all over I was under the twisted ass ladder. My leg just above the right ankle was hurtin pretty bad and when I felt it, there was a bone. 33 years with no broken bones, well if ya don't count my nose, and now my old ass is gettin brittle.
Trust be brother, better to have a broken bone than a ruptured tendon. The time off is shorter and the rehab is shorter. You will be back to normal before you know it bro. I guess this is a good time to get out the old fishing pole and just sit by a lake and do some fishing. Also, better to break a bone than a joint and need joint replacement. I've broken my right arm twice, doing the same thing both times too. I was riding my bike with no hands and hit something in the road. Even with football and wrestling in HS, I never had any issues with it. Where as this Achilles thing will have an impact on me forever probably. Even if I don't hurt it again, I will always be thinking about it. What did they give you, 4 to 6 weeks? That's not bad bro. Once a bone is healed you can begin normal life, at 6 weeks I was just begining to stretch the muscle and did PT for another 2 1/2 months before I could do normal things. Be thankful it wasn't worse. And, just trying to keep you positive, this time off will help your wrist too bro, so take a full break and come back totally healed.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I just got back from the ortho and the fib is broken in 2 places. I'm lookin at around 4-6 wks so my legs are gonna be shrinkin, lol!
