Re: how do YOU feel about this??
yes and no and no and yes!
Here in Canada the tories put a rule saying we should not lower the canadian flag when a soldier is killed, because we are at war and this what happens at war everyday. To that I understand and I say they are right, but all the soldiers before the rule got the respect of the lowering of the flag and the rest doesnt, inegality even at deaththree doodoo is back! Hide your women!

Re: how do YOU feel about this??
I would think that it is a grand gesture to do so. I mean seriously, just how difficult is it to do this one day of the year? So, it should just be some thing that all states do to honor those who have died. If you think about it, every single state has has at least one person from that state die in one war or another, so just do it and be done with it. But, to hear of a governor actually 'ordering' the lowering of the flag is a grand gesture in my opinion. It shows they care enough to recognize the individual soldiers.

Re: how do YOU feel about this??
i agree. i understand your point vandoo...but, it's the VERY LEAST a state can do to show it's appreciation for the life you gave your country!! come on...1 day? thats too tuff. even if it was JUST at the capitol building (and, i would demand it at the govn. mansion if it were me!)...just a sign of respect...i cant believe any state would have a prob. with thatOriginally posted by T-Man007 View PostI would think that it is a grand gesture to do so.
