Last of the Mohicans, Meet Joe Black, You've Got Mail, Monty Python's Holy Grail ... can't decide between them at the moment.

No way bro. The first was much better/closer to the book.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

When I first read the books as a kid...it was more for the fact that I could read...but then reading them as an adult you can understand and relate in some aspect of the way the characters are written. Then watching it on the big screen your whole imagination is brought to life...neither is better as it's just an ongoing movie broken into 9 hours...and it's not a trilogy either...remember it's just one book.

                    Aragorn

yeah but that battle scene in the second one was awesome, thats what makes it the best to me. Thats true it is just one long book and one long movie if you want to look at it that way.
