I'm so freaking tired of stupid politicians whining about video games. Now their complaining that the setting of the new Grand Theft Auto will be in a New York City like setting. They are pissed because it has similar landmarks that New York City has.

Like the developer said there are many movies and books that don't exactly compliment New York with storylines about serial killers, prostitution, crooked cops, mafia bosses.....but they don't ***** about any of that. As soon as it's put in a video game they are up in arms! It's so freaking frustrating!

Then you'll have the absolute moronic jackasses that will say that video games are for kids, and that type of game should be banned. What these freaking scumbag pieces of garbage that need to drop a hairdryer in the tub need to realize is the games like this are rated 'M' for Mature. Meaning for adults only! Giving your kids Porn is not acceptable! So why do people think giving kids a game intended for adults is acceptable?

This once again falls on the poor standards and parenting of parents out their. But they need a scapegoat to take their classless problems too!

GAMES ARE NOT JUST FOR KIDS! MY GENERATION GREW UP WITH GAMES, SO WE ARE THE GENERATION THAT ARE NOW ADULTS THAT STILL PLAY GAMES. THE THOUGHT THAT GAMES ARE JUST FOR KIDS HAS LONG PASSED, WHY CAN'T SOME OF THESE FREAKING FOSSILS GET THAT?

If these old pieces of crap want to start passing laws to ban games maybe they need to pass a law that requires old people to take a yearly competency test to continue the right to drive a vehicle. Fossils cause so many freaking accidents & deaths a year because their motor skills are poor, but you don't see anything done about that! Why you may ask? BECAUSE OLD PEOPLE MAKE LAWS SO THEY WON'T PASS LAWS AGAINST THEMSELVES! THEY ONLY PASS LAWS ON THINGS THAT DON'T DIRECTLY EFFECT THEIR OWN PERSONAL LIVES, WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PASSING LAWS THAT MATCH THE VIEWS OF THE MAJORITY OF THE COUNTRY!

I HOPE ALL THAT OPPOSE THIS GAME CHOKE ON A FREAKING BOTTLE CAP TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I'm on the fence with this. One, I don't think it's the Politicions job to tell us what games we can and can't play. HOWEVER, I know for a fact that there are a lot of crappy parents out there who buy these games for their 10 year old kids when they say for teens only. So, my thing is, why don't they spedn more time teaching teh parents to actully be parents. If parents did their job, less kids would be phuked up in this country. But too many people are chasing the All Mighty Dollar to be a parent. It's phuked up to no end. Now, I'm not talking about the single parent who dropped out of school and has to work 3 jobs to pay the bills. To that person, I bow because they are doing everything it takes to provide. But, the man who makes $250k a year but is at the office 80-90 hours a week and never spends any time with his kids and when his kids do phuk up, and they usually will, he says "I worked so hard so they could have everything they want, I just don't understand." Hey dumb ass, what they 'want' is a dad, not a bank account you dumb phuk!

Ok, I have to calm down now, so I'm done, but I'm with you bro. The Politicians are missing the real problem.

Dude they've already made a damn system that tells parents which games are appropriate for their kids. It says what age bracket the game is intended for, and if the game is MA- Mature a parent/ guardian is required to buy it if they aren't 18.

The video game industry should not be blamed for parents not doing their jobs!

America is becoming a society that does not accept blame for their own mistakes! America is Fat.......It's the restaurants fault! Murders, shootings, carjackings.......Blame it on the video games!!!

What people aren't looking at is the fact that restaurants don't make people fat! PEOPLE MAKE THEMSELVES FAT! NOONE FORCED AN F'N GUN IN ANYONE'S MOUTH FORCING THEM TO EAT, NOT EXERCISE AND BECOME FAT PIECES OF SHIIIIT!!! TAKE SOME DAMN RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS AMERICA!!!!

Video games don't cause violence.....PEOPLE CAUSE VIOLENCE! THERE WAS WAY MORE CRIME BEFORE VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES WERE OUT! IF ANYTHING BLAME IT ON POOR PARENTING! PARENTS THAT DON'T KEEP TABS ON THEIR KIDS ARE DOOMING THEM! PERIOD!

My parents wouldn't let me listen to music with parental guidance stickers, watch R rated movies, or play any MA rated video games. That's what parents are supposed to do! I'm freaking tired of people expecting government to parent our kids! IF YOU CAN'T PARENT YOUR OWN KIDS DON'T F'N BREED!

LOL, I knew what you were saying. Which was my whole point, it all comes down to the parents. Kids are products of their up brining, period. Parents who let thier kids make their own desicions are settign them up for failure because kids aren't smart enough to know the right choices. If kids were smart enought o make the right choices, then school wouldn't be mandatory, kids would want to go, drugs wouldn't be a problem, because kids would know why they are bad. But the don't, if left up to kids, most would not go to school and most would experiment with drugs and alcohol and all kinds of other stuff because they aren't smart enough to know better. The primary teacher in a childs life should be their parents. They won't learn right from wrong at school, so the only place they can learn it is at home.

So, I agree with what you are saying totally, I think the politicians need to do a better job of educating parents, not controlling what games we play. They are missing the bigger picture.

Well..when we actually stand up as people to this corrupt government then this dumb **** will continue to happen. Our government is so ****ed..and it isn't just the people, our entire system has become dated and needs an overhaul, I don't care what any high school government book says....end of my rant.

The attacks against Video games and Rap music and Heavy metal are all just a smoke screen. The government is trying to distract the public from understanding that the real cause of societal violence comes from economoic hardship, drug addiction and lack of education.

AND

That the causes of economic hardship, drug addiction and lack of educational resourses are due to FAILED GOVERNMENT POLICIES, not video games.

Aren`t you happy knowing that we`ve got another "seawolf" submarine in the water instead of the 200 schools you could buy and operate with the same money.

Iraqi war one month 7-9 billion on top of the 23.58 billion per month we spend as a nation on defense. One year total 391 billion.

US Department of Education (all schools and universities and student loans, etc in the US) one year total 32 billion.
