Re: Exodus
If we instituted this in our legal system the prisons would be virtually empty, lol! I go along with it under certain circumstances. This is one of the things that has always confused me about the Bible, is it eye for an eye or is it turn the other cheek? If the OT isn't really supposed to be followed by Christians because it mostly outlines the old Jewish Law as in Leviticus, then what if any parts should we still follow? Ya know, an omnipitent God should have been clearer when dealing with us simple humans, lol!

That would have a huge impact on crime. Did you know this country has only 5% of the world population but we have 20% of the world's population of criminals? That's just phuked up! The penalty for crime is too soft on some crimes and to hard on others. Some dude wants to get juiced up and get's caught with his supply and has to do 10 years because 'they' said he had enough to support intent to sale. On the flip side, some guy rapes a woman who is mentally screwed for life and gets out in 7 years. How the hell does that even add up?
FUZO - You have to look at that verse in it's entirety. I think it's more than just eye for an eye in terms of revenge. It's more of a rule for punishment to be carried out by law. Vengence, even in the Old Testament, has always been told to be God's responsibility, not ours. However, punishment for crimes was in fact given to man by God. Even back in Genisis God states that if the blood of man be shed by man, so shall his blood be shed. It other words, if you kill, you shall be killed. This is God talking, not man, so that right there tells you how much God loves mankind that he would instruct us to kill a man who has killed another. Obviously, there are circumstances like war, self defense, etc that do not count. Man has the right to preserve his life. However, if we were to institute punishments for crimes that were go severe, people would think twice. Imagine if you raped someone and were branded with a big "R" on your forehead. Or, if you sexually molested a child and was branded with a big "CM" on your face. People would never speak to that person, ever. That would make people think twice before doing some of the stuff they do.

Re: Exodus
DEFINITELY! I think there needs to be undisputable DNA evidence or actual footage with unbiased witnesses to convict anyone to lose a hand, leg, diick, or life. To many people are falsely imprisoned, so it would be so much worse if innocent people were put to death, or castrated because of a wrong conviction.
But if you are undisputably guilty, then there is no excuse why you shouldn't suffer the consequences.

Originally posted by kite View PostI agree, but what if a tard molests a kid........what should happen to him? Here in Ga., Brunswick actually, there was a kid who was kidnapped, molested and murdered by a registered sex offender whose supposedly a tard. To me, I'd still say rape his ass with a ball bat wrapped in barbed wire, castrated him and then execute his ass.

Clearly he was dangerous enough to commit the crime and too dumb to know better. That was the fault of the system in my opinion. The guy should have been in a halfway house for life. Too dangerous, too dumb, too much risk. Period.
