(Around Dallas) Has anyone been there ? I think I might be visiting a friend down there sometimes soon .Any recommendations ? She does not like the bar scene though

lol, it's downtown on the east side
it's near the heart of what they call, "Deep Elum", big nightclub scene
it's a techno joint, loud etc.
in deep elum you can walk around and visit lot's of clubs
imho, you gotta visit a cowboy bar to see the purdy girls of texas, red river is one of the best, plus, if you don't like it, theres fireside right down the street, more of 30 something rock club -

I usually am around uptown or addison. Andy moor is coming to the lounge next month...but that would be the rare reason to go

only bar i still go to is dukes roadhouse. its great this time of year and a blast with a bunch of friends on the patio
havent been downtown dallas in a long time

I've been to the 'Leopard' Lounge in Atlanta....does that help? LOLI used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

I don't know about now, but several years ago it was a very upscale nightclub. But, a lot has changed in that city over the last several years so it may be now. Everything in Deep Ellum is closing. I didn't know anyone went down there anymore. Even Gypsy Tea Room is closing its doors March 31 I've heard. From what I know that area has become dead.
There are some good bars opening up downtown on Main Street now. Uptown has got a good bar scene too, not much for clubs though.Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat. - Teddy RooseveltComment
