  • i am furious, dont talk to my wife like that!

one of my wife's bosses got caught talking smack about another boss. my wife got caught in the middle and he screamed at her infront of her employees calling her a liar and a troublemaker to save face.

when she told me this i almost blew a gasket. my wife asked me not to confront him. i respected that. she went to one of his peers who is acting as a mediator and said she wants a full apology in front of her staff.

if he refuses thats when i will loose my cool

guys, you know this feeling i am talking about? its pure unadulterated rage! your ears turn red and "cant see straight" anger that wells up from the depths of your soul.

No, that's when you get an attorney.. happened to my wife, but not to that extent... she was contacted by the HR department, and they explained he was sorry, that the company just wanted to make sure she was ok..

we had already talked, i had already let her know she couldn't go back there... she did anyway.. you know how it is.. and she relayed to HR that it wasn't so much her but her husband (me) really wasn't going to let this go, and that an attorney was being contacted..

we had a check.. after taxes of $25,000, they called it a employee retention payment, an apology, and the ceo was made aware of the situation..

problem is she has now gotten job offers from a company with a $25,000 increase in pay, which will take her close to $100,000, she can take it, and not return the money, that was buy off money.. plan and simple..

we'll see, i want her to come work with me, and that is probably how it will go..

He needs a "sit down" and then he will be sitting down for months nursing those knee caps.

If she values her job, she needs to continue to go through the "proper" channels, as she seems to be doing in talking to another higher-up. I would not back down from demanding a public apology, but try to get this resolved behind the scenes first. If nothing happens, then let it be known you have retained legal counsel. That should straighten his tie.

Re: i am furious, dont talk to my wife like that!

i think she is playing it smart. i am still pissed as hell, she told me at dinner he put his finger in her face. i saw red again. but i promised not to go to the office. he is a senior partner but has a rep for flying off the handle.

worst case senario she has a case for hostile work environment but she likes her job and gets paid well so she dosnt wanna make waves.

she did demand an apology through his peer, i reccomended she not be satisfied until he recants everything he said and then apologizes.

his failure or refusal to do so will result in civil escalation of this matter. i am also equiping her tommorow with my micro voice recorder i use at work, just in case.

i will admit i would love to confront him and have him put his finger in my face but he is scared ****less of me and i have faith my wife will do the right thing she is a strong smart woman

Yep, my wife worked for a Dentist who would yell at her and one day he threw something at her and I waited for him to leave and had a few words with him. I kept my cool but I was very clear on my point. He never spoke to her like that again! No one is going to treat my wife as if she's below them, not unless they want me all over their ass. So I'm with you 100%! She can get another job, but respect is respect and no one disrespects my wife.
