Got approved today for a loan. I found a 2003 GMC Sierra SLT extended cab (2 reg doors with 2 extra reverse opening doors) with 50k miles on it. Belonged to an elderly guy and the dealer says it doesnt even have a scratch on it. White with silver bottom and the chrome SLT wheels.
What do you guys think? Good truck? It has the 5.3 V8 in it.

Yeah it's a pretty solid truck. I have an 04 Silverado with the same engine. Engine and tranny are good. The truck has plenty of acceleration, and can be easily modded if it isn't fast enough for you.
Price wise I wouldn't pay more than $13,000-$14,000 for it after tax.

Oh and Im getting it next to nothing down.
Im so excited.
Sounds awesome!
When I get rid of my truck within the next year I'll let you know what stuff I'm getting rid of that might interest you.
If you do plan on modding it at all the first thing you should get is a Diablosport predator power programmer. They run $399.99 new and DO NOT BUY ONE ON EBAY! It allows you to optimize your truck to use three types of fuel 87,89, 93 octane and will give you tremendous power gains. The biggest positive is you can get rid of the torque management on your truck. GM puts torque management on all their vehicles which makes your truck put out half the power it really is capable of putting out.
If you buy that, a K&N FIPK filter, and a Magnaflow dual exhaust your truck will be running with a stock Mustang GT.
If you want to hear a sound clip with a Magnaflow dual exhaust let me know and I'll post it up. It'll sound the same on your truck as it does on mine since we have the same engine.
2wd i assume? as dj said, very solid truck. he's right about those programers. i used one on every demo i had. on the deisel, it play's hell on the tranny, but i havnt heard of any prob's with the gas engines, and they do make a huge diff.
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!
