Here I have a proof of the speed test..done which clearly shows 15 mbps..which is blazing fast speed .. WITH CABLE.. most cable providers give you max 7mbps.. even COMCAST gives you around 6bmps tops.. well with a few tweaks I've managed to get the best out of it.. and get my money worth..

If you are using cable modem and connect your PC with USB cable.. throw the USB cable and get Ethernet cable.. connect your cable modem with ethernet cable to your PC. After you did this.. go to RUN type MSCONFIG ..
Then go to startup and DISABLE all the running programs you have.. after this.. go to RUN type COMMAND and then type MEM hit enter..again type MEM and hit ENDER then again type MEM and hit enter once you done this restart your computer.. along with cable modem power.. and then you should get at least a few extra megabytes.. to your speed.. enjoy..

ETHERNET all the way! You need to do that anyway if you have a network....

the cable change is what made things speed up bandwidth wise. you sped up the local pc by stopping programs that start on start up, making more RAM memory available to the PC with MSconfig. the mem command just showed how much memory you're using.

MTU tweaking will give you a boost. MTU settings control the maximum ethernet packet size your PC will send. Make a search on google for MTU Tweaking, there's some registry settings you can play with to increase your bandwidth. there's also uncapping the cable modem, but that many times goes against your cable's TOS

FiOS is better then cable... my friends are reporting 50mbps.. which i tested myself.. no need for fiber optic users..

but they only guarantee a much lower speed..
