Spring Break trip help

Seems like everyone is looking for vacation ideas. I had originally planned to go on a skiing trip with a couple friends. We found some good deals, but it is still pretty expensive, and the added cost of buying ski clothes, it just seems like so much money. I am a poor college kid, my savings account already sucks, and I just don't want to throw all of my money into a one week trip. So, me and a friend decided to maybe go out west, I have never been to Cali, she has. I was thinking San Fran or San Diego, I wanted to know some opinions to people that have been there. We both love NY, but I wanted to go somewhere I have never been, plus I love NY in the summer. So, any ideas?? SF or SD??

sd....i would like to go somewhere warm for spring break, and sf is a cold ***** that time of year with the winds and fog...go to sd and stay at mission beach or the sd bay....both cool spots

Some updates:
It was going to be me and two friends, but one friend is kinda backing out, so it will be me and a girl. Neither one of us are into the club scene really, we like to eat and good restaurants, and I might occasionally drink. I would most likely drink some if I was on vacation and at a good place to eat. We are not a couple, so not looking to do romantic stuff.

Do a last minute carribean cruise! Very affordable, food is all inclusive and top notch, lots of chances to get laid, the chance to party when you want or just kick back and relax, and to top it off exotic views and destinations.

You can pick up a trip like that for $250.00 a person including everything but port charges which are less than $100 for the whole trip.

pacific beach isnt that nice, mission beach is the way to go if you are going to san diego for spring break. Mission beach has everything that you will want.

My wife never used to let me go to mission beach unless I was just playing pool since there was too many "good things" there LOL and that was just anytime of the year. Spring break even more come out especially if your spring break is at the same time as SDSU
