The games blow PS2 games out of the water. It's not even a comparison. It's the reliability factor that is an issue.
As for the PS2 I had one on launch day and it broke within 2 weeks, then they sent me a new one, and that broke in 6 months, then they sent me a new one and that broke in a year, then they sent me a new one and I traded it in for an Xbox. Oh and they said each time that it was a defect. They said if they found it was my fault in any way they wouldn't fix it or send me a new one. So It's not like it was anything I was doing wrong.
WOW...IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE YOU'VE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH ALL THESE FORIEGN MADE PRODUCTS!!
J/K BRO...I'VE NEVER HAD A PROB. WITH PS, OR PS2
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!
His will break soon then. The freezing leads to the 3 red lights, which will put his unit out of commission. It only has a 1 year warranty so if your buddy is getting close to that, tell him to call and have it repaired before the warranty is up!
His just freezes up once in a long while, I've only seen it happen once.
He got an extended warranty to 3 years from gamestop.
I am so out of it, I wouldn't even know how to turn the damn thing on! I remember Atari. There was a big On/Off switch right on the front. That was easy

I think you play too rough with your toys! LOL You are literally the first person I've known to have that many issues with a PS2. But, you bought when it first came out, which I never do. New products ALWAYS have the most bugs to be worked out. I always wait at least 18 months to 2 years before I buy a game system.
As far as the games, it doesn't matter to me. As long as they work I'm happy.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.
my ps2 has had the crap beaten out of it, it was in my jeep, strapped under the dash for like a year with all those bumps and bass rattling it, and in and out of the house, no mercy for 2 almost 3 years and it still works like a charm, i never even cleaned it! and never had a problem with it once. My buddy is now on his 3rd 360 in like 4 months...lol.....they all overheated.

That says it all right there!

That doesn't say crap! explain my situation then? It's not like I play freaking frisbee with my units! I put them in the entertainment center and use them. That's it. They don't move, they don't go anywhere, they don't get banged, they sit on a shelf and play games. So it's not abuse that makes them fail multiple times.
Sure some people have luck, but that doesn't mean that a whole brand is good because of a few good units. It's like the Chrysler 300 C. Great looking car, but everyone I've ever spoke to said it's in the shop non stop. Yet it still gets great reviews. Point is apparently a few must be working good to get good reviews, but that doesn't mean there aren't a bunch of crappy batches that work horribly.

It's like I said, you are the ONLY person I've ever known to have a problem with the PS2. The only one. Now, maybe you got yours before the bugs were worked out, I don't know, but if chase could do all that he did with his and EVERYONE else I know who has one has no problems, that says it all. Also, after you posted this I've asked around and most of the people with the 360 are having issues with their system. It's a crap system right now. There are a lot of bugs, which there usually are with new systems, and it's going to take time to fix them. So, based on performance, I would say the PS2 is more reliable. Who cares about graphics if it doesn't work all the time? I don't.

First let me say that 360 sucks ass....I was at a best buy with my friend yesterday and he was playing the display unit and it froze????
As for PS2, I had it when it first launched and owned that unit for like 5 yrs before the lens broke.....same with my friends, but I don't doubt that there were batches out there that had problems.
