so how did your V-day pan out?

i bought my wife flowers, candy, a mushy card (i wrote a little poem for her) and some soft warm pink PJs

she loved it and i spent less than $50 (even got a few tears)

last year i got us massages at the gaylord country club sent 2 doz roses to her work and bought her some sleezy lingerie and i spent close to $500 with dinner. we ended up fighting

this year she seemed to appreciate it alot more, lesson learned its not the $ you spend but the sincerity of the gifts.

Lily and I gave each other very nice cards and i also got her a dozen roses..we both agreed that valentines day is to comercialized and that everyday should be valentines day........

oh i also gave her a very nice massage after her shower and it put her fast to sleep so all in all it was a very nice evening

mine was good... i made a card out of tissue paper and construction paper... girls eat that up every time!

i got her a few random things from bath and body works...

we went out for a bottle of wine.. then over to a pizzeria for a pie... lowkey but fun.

she said the card was the best part...

I didn't plan ahead and couldn't get reservations anywhere. So, I went on line yesterday and looked up an appetizer, entre and desert and went and bought all the ingredients. The appetizer was chicken drumsticks with an apricot/tea glaze, the entre was ribeye with an apple, kiwi, soy sauce, rice wine sauce with kiwi garnish and the desert was apple crisp. It was freaking awesome. I haven't cooked for her like that in years and she loved it. We decided not to get anything this year because we are still paying off hospital bills and the dinner was the bomb. She has mentioned it three times today already.

So, I saved my butt at the last minute with flying colors.
