  • Religious help

I grew up in the bible belt, I remember my parents always wanting me to go to church, but I just wasn't into it when I got into my teens. I have for the past 4 years pondered what is out there, and with an education based mostly in science, it was hard for me to just blindly believe in something. I think my spiritual side is lacking. I have never read the Holy Bible and I want to start, I didn't know which version I should buy. I looked on Amazon, there are a lot of choices.

New American Standard, New King James are supposedly the most accurate to the Greek/Hebrew original translations. If you are looking for a basic and easy to understand but not too far off translation New Living Translation is VERY easy to read. New International Version is probably the most popular. If ur looking for the easyiest yet most accurate version Id say go with New King James or New American Standard.

      Re: Religious help

Thought id throw this scripture out here. If u dont understand what this is saying it means to access/grow in faith read/study the Bible.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
      ---Romans 10:17 (NKJV)---

If u need any other help and whatnot ask me, i live for this stuff.

Whichever version you choose, I did a study using a chronological bible, that's is where the books are all in historical order, and where info is given in multiple book Mathew/mark/luke/john (example) there are side notes and study info.

It reads like a novel and will allow you to (from a scientific view) understand the teachings better.

Also, there are several good "apologetic" books out there, these are books that teach you ways to communicate with people what you believe and why..

If you think it takes allot of "faith" to believe in creationism, you should see how many assumptions and you have to have "faith" in to believe in evolution.

          good luck
