i hate my tivo

my wife got it for me for Xmas( i asked for a sony surround sound with DVD player). after spending $90 for parts just to get it to work i find i hate the infernal machine. it takes a full 5 seconds to switch channels( the serial cable wouldnt work so i am stuck with IR). i am now having to keep up with 2 remotes too

i am a channel flipper, this is an eternity for me.

it has taken all the joy i found in the short times i did sit down to watch TV.

should i just tell her i hate it? she got the damnable thing for free with a contract for service (she only needed to sign for 1 year but did 3....OH BOY!)

i want it gone, but i dont want to hurt her feelings


women, if your man wants electronics, please for the love of God ask him which model, brand, size, color. and dont just buy some random gadget

this may work occasionally but last year i got an MP3 player(i asked for an ipod nano) i got a cheap sony POS with horrible software that puts spyware on my PC.

i am stuck between a damned tivo and marital peace.

I absolutely love my tivo. I don't understand what extra you had to buy, is your tv old? I didn't have to buy anything, every cable I needed came with me box. I only signed the one year though, I will be out of contract soon, but will be sticking with the service.

i dont have a home phone so i had to hook up to my wireless router and the internet. i nedded a $50 antena. my TV is old and i needed an A-B terminal box so i could still use my PS2. they were out of the cheap ones so i bought a $40 one with gold plated terminals. its real pretty

if the damn thing would change channels properly i wouldnt have such a prob with it.

my bro in law says he will take it and buy me an Ipod nano but my wife is pissed off. damned if i do and damned if i dont

Just do what i do when my wife goes cheap and doesnt buy what i asked for. BREAK IT then go get what u wanted in the first place.

i am just gonna pull the trigger and trade the damned tivo for the ipod. i will order a DVR from verizon next monday. problem solved. i get what i want and my wife gets my christmas present that she wanted
