  • Government corruption in the news!

This is exactly why I don't get why so many don't think there is corruption in our government. Politicians get in office and then let insurance companies, oil companies, medical companies, cable companies etc make record profit while us citiznes get our pocketbooks raped!

Then half the country sits back and defends the government and turns a blind eye as if none of this is going on. So some of us patriots have the balls to call these people out on their scandals, and everyone castrates us claiming we're conpiracy theorists, and that our stories are loaded and a one sided political bashing.

Well follow this news link to read how wrong all you were that disagreed with me and the few that echoed the same warnings!

I don't think anyone denies the fact that corruption takes place in politics. Everyone knows there is corruption, it's always been that way and always will.

So why is it so far fetched when I say that the current administration is corrupt? Anytime I bring up points on corruption in the sytem with Bush, I get a ton of people acting like there is no such thing as corruption. Then emphatically denying this corruption with no facts to discredit my claims, nor facts to give any truth to there claims!

here is one reason why, even when a president is found guilty, the congress lets them off with a 50-50 vote for acquittal..

The Senate voted on the Articles of Impeachment on February 12, with a two-thirds majority, or 67 Senators, required to convict. On Article I, that charged that the President "...willfully provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony to the grand jury" and made "...corrupt efforts to influence the testimony of witnesses and to impede the discovery of evidence" in the Paula Jones lawsuit, the President was found not guilty with 45 Senators voting for the President's removal from office and 55 against. Ten Republicans split with their colleagues to vote for acquittal; all 45 Democrats voted to acquit. On Article II, charging that the President "...has prevented, obstructed, and impeded the administration of justice"..., the vote was 50-50, with all Democrats and five Republicans voting to acquit.

That sucks! It should be a nationwide vote if it came time for impeachment. And with the heinous crimes Bush is directly connected too, he should see prison time!

Yeah by people that have also been corrupted! That guy is as guilty as can be! It absolutely amazes me that he can get away with so much stuff, and people all say he's still innocent.

Then the American people wonder why everyone in other countries hate us!

corruption has been around forever....i dont think anybody would ever denie that. there's a difference between claiming that some politicians are corrupt, and claiming that every single negative act that transpires in this country is the root to some government evil doer's plan! (not saying that you do that dj...just saying... )

Point taken. My biggest gripe is how noone questions what the government does anymore. They just assume that reporters and the media have their best interest in mind. People need to question things for themselves, and demand answers from their government. People forget it's supposed to be the people that are in control, not politicians!

Honestly I don't feel that the people are in control anymore. Sadly that is what our ancestors fought for, and that freedom is being stripped day by day. Ignoring it, and denying it won't make it go away. It will just make it that much harder to stop when everyone finally realizes what's going on.

Yeah, the government is corrupt; corruption goes along with giving men power over other mens rights. The U.S. government was never intended on being so enormous that government (men) would decide on what demographics (other men categorized by certain attributes) pressure would be applied and what demographics would be relieved. Corruption will always increase as the power of government increases. It is contradicting to oppose government corruption, all the while voting to give government more responsibility/power.

I think instead of questioning government integrity on issues, people need to question why government is even involved in anything other than protecting our sovereignty and/or our individual rights.
