  • converting wma to mp3 files?

how do I do it? I thought I knew how but I keep getting this message "Can't convert this file! This file is protected with DRM technology!" Is there any way around that?

Burn it to an audio CD with Windows Media Player, then rip it back into the computer as an MP3 file. When ripping though, use as high a bit rate as possible so you don't lose sound quality.

Oh yes - one more thing - if you're concerned about "wasting a CD" to do this - use a CD-RW so you can erase and re-use it.

I use iTunes. It's a program you can get for free. You basically download it to your iTunes and then convert it to MP3. I've never had any issues yet.

Tried that one already and got a free download for converting, but when I'd try to convert is when I got the protection message.

Problem is though, iTunes will not play or convert a protected WMA file. You need to use a program that will support the Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) system.
