Polaroid isn't a bad brand at all..maybe you just got a bad set or you need to check up your settings or something.

And your basing that on what? If you read reviews from people that have had their units long term almost all were negative. Also many people that have a good understanding on what is good and bad with video and audio all had the same complaints I did about the unit, when going on sites like Circuit city and reading the reviews.

Also if you consider good, a tv that breaks after being used literally 10 times in one year, then I am quite surprised. My 27" Hitachi I bought in 99 although has it's own little quirks has worked great even to this day. That is what I expect out of a product.

Furthermore if the set fails so prematurely I expect the company to stand behind their product. For them to tell me it is 17 days past warranty so I now need to pay $150 to fix it is ludacris! That is not a quality company. It would be different if I was 6 months out of warranty, but 17 DAYS!!??

This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company and I highly advise everyone to boycott this shoddy product, and horrendus customer service!

Btw, it's not my settings. I sold TV, and Audio for a few years in the 90's and am pretty up to date on this stuff. All of the buttons on the top of the unit do not work at all anymore! (which I've only used the remote since I bought it because you can't even see the buttons with how high it's mounted)! And the word "Volume" with a giant bar is constantly on in the middle of the screen. It's unavoidable and does not turn off regardless of what you do.

A bad set? Try a bad company!
