I tryed earlier to start up an FTP server for people to share files among members, but i was unsucessful because of my firewall and my A-hole step-dad won't turn it off.
Would somebody else be interested in doing this. I know you guys are computer nuts and i think we would be able to share movies, apps, etc.

I'll still continue to try this FTP thing, i'm gonna try to hack the a-hole's password....wish me luck ......Maybe gearedup could host it on his server. That would be awsome and fast!!!!!!.....something to ponder....
I dont want to be liable fpor something like that if everyone is giving away copyrighted material! Kazaaa gets awqay because they dont actually have it on the servers, here it would be and if someone found out I could get in trouble!
I would do it, but I have a 10GB/month transfer limit on my connection. The traffic would probably cost me an extra $100/month.

Running a Hotline server would be easier. I ran one for a few years and it was great. Offered chat/file sharing/news all in one package. You can also customize what port it runs on to get around the firewall.
EQL.....What kind of router does your stepdad have? If it's a linksys, on the back it has a reset switch that will set everything back to the defaults.
