Dude you have my utmost respect! I find it ridiculous for guys to go out and spend thousands on a ring, unless of course they are rich. I see guys that ***** about money, then go out and spend 2k on a freaking ring. Makes no sense. If the woman truly loved him she would understand the ring is supposed to represent your commitment and love for her. It's not supposed to be her fashion statement. When guys spoil their women with money they are setting themselves up for failure!

Society as a whole has become way to freaking materialistic. They have to have prada purses and prada shoes. Who freaking cares! It's not like people are going to run up and say "Wow you have a prada purse I wish I was you!"
Seriously, it's different if you see something you really like and you are getting it because you like it. But when you get it to showboat it's quite lame!

You know the best part of it, I had my sister and her go shopping for X-mas presents together and purposely told my sister to go into the diamond store to see what my gf likes ring wise, and of course she fell for it and was all about this one ring....her exact words were "I dont care about the clarity or anything as long as it is from the heart" So I went to check the ring out and it was $1000 and there was one I was looking at for 2500 and I tell you what I cant tell the dam difference one bit...My girl comes from money but IS NOT about money, and that attracts me to her even more that she can see past that stuff for what it is...I spoil her in other ways right now and she loves it, cause she knows my show is coming up and im in school trying to better myself and our future...

And that my friend is when you know you've found the right one! My girl said the same thing and picked out something inexpensive because she said she wants a ring to be married to me, not to have a fashion piece.
