Today was the first day back in the gym since my Achilles tear. Not counting PT, of course. I just finished PT last week. So, I go in and stick to my plan and start off with 20 minutes of cardio. Man, there is something magical about the gym. I went at twice the pace I would at PT on the eliptical, seriously. I would go at a speek of 70 at PT and today I was from 140 to 170 for the whole 20 minutes. I was pumped up.
Then, I grabbed the Bosu (sp) ball (flat side up) and did squats and my one leg balance stuff. Then I flipped it over and did lunges on it. By this point I was getting psyched. So, on to the leg press. Did those, some calf stuff. Good God, it's embarassing how weak they are, but it's going to be a long road back and I've excepted that. I did some light delt stuff and called it a day.
I can tell, I'm going to be sore as hell! I stretched real good when I was done but I doubt the stuff I've done at PT even came close to preparing me for today, and I went light. Just high reps like I was told. I only went to 450 on LP and did 20 reps. High reps really got my thighs pumped up. My poor right calf is still way smaller than the right. I refuse to measure it. LOL '
Anyways, if felt great to finally get back in but I'm going to regret it the next 4-5 days I bet.
