Thanks for the kind (if overly generous) words. I am happy to help clarify things for folks when I can.

I guess what I'm asking is, why do people only see what they want to see in the Bible, and can sometimes be so stubborn to different interpretations?
Just to clear up some confusion on this for you. First off, it doesn't say not to work on Sunday; it says not to work on the Sabbath. Look at a calendar, the seventh day is actually Saturday, not Sunday. It amazes me how many people over look that fact.

Next point is, you have to consider the point being made and to whom it was made. This was Moses speaking to the Israelites. This was God order to them as a precursor to the Law he would hold them accountable to. The entire purpose of the 10 commandments and of the Law was to make the Jews aware of the fact; they could not do these things and therefore needed a savior. The whole purpose of this was so that the Jews would realize they could not do this on their own merit.

Also, if you read through the New Testament, Jesus personally quotes or makes reference to every one of the commandments except, this one. Christians, all though responsible for obeying the Old Testament, are more held to the New Testament because that's the time from which our follow of Christ was to begin. Now, don't misunderstand me because I am not stating that we are not to obey the Old Testament, I stating, just and Paul states in Romans, we (Christians) are not bound to the law giving to the Jews. The law was a strict covenant between God and Jews, not God and Christians. The law, as I stated above, was designed with the intent of showing the Jews they needed a savior. Thus, those saved by Christ, are not bound to the law. This is stated in the New Testament. The 10 commandments were in fact intending for the Jews. However, as Christ himself referred to or quoted them, he made them guidelines for us to follow as well.

I'll give you an example of a commandment that gets misused all the time. The one about 'honor your mother and father'. What if your parents wanted you to be a criminal and encouraged you to do so and by not, you did not 'honor your mother and father'? Simple, you first obedience is to God and God alone. If the will of your parents is not the will of God then you should not obey your parents. Plain and simple. But yet, the Bible says 'obey your mother and father'. And again, your obedience to God should never be altered by the instruction of another person.

      Anyways, that's my two cents.

Oh yeah, it's good money but it's also up and down with the season. Because I live in Colorado there's a huge dip in sales during late fall early winter so you have to really manage your money right. Also, if you don't get the right clients, you will suffer. All and all, I'm doing just fine, but wish it was just a little better. My wife doesn't have to work and I own two homes (one being an investment property). But, like I said, it's Real Estate and so you get out of it what you put into it except for me, there is the honesty thing. You see, I have to be completely honest and non bias which can make the job difficult. Where as people who have no honor, just bring homes in at whatever value is needed and they are rolling in business. They could care less that they are screwing up the market. I went to a seminar once and a statistion told us that if every home in a market place was over valued just 10%, that's is, the entire market place would colapse. People would be in over their head and foreclosures would increase. Colorado leads the nation in foreclosures by the way. So, a guy like me will just say 'no' before I stretch the value for some dipshit loan officer who can't sell mortgage insurance. Because, that's what it all boils down to. Everyone has to be under 70% to 80% loan to value to qualify and so loan officers pressure us to get them there. However, our state has adopted the begining of making mortgage companies licensed and with that will come serious penalties for pressuring appraisers and such. That will be a good day! LOL

Thanks for the info. I have thought about going into this, or helping my wife to it, or maybe us doing it as a team. Right now she does home day care and she likes it, but our house takes a beating, LOL.

So does Mrs. Angry. You are corect about the house taking a beating. We put a fresh coat of paint on the walls every 3 months. We finished our basement and put an extra bathroom in just for the daycare. Nice tax deduction though.
