I definitely agree with that which is why I compared us to rome. Every empire falls and arrogance brings us to our demise much quicker than if we think outside the box without arrogance!

I think as time goes by America will have to learn that it is not omnipotent that is not to say it shouldnt be the no1. like you say u.s citizens have got used to thinking they are invincible I guess the uk thought like that . I suppose some would say luckily for us a nation which in many ways is an offshoot of old europe emerged with resourses to protect our interests. perhaps a new power may rise from somewhere that rejuvenates the western ideal a unified europe with a more prominent role maybe alongside the u.s and and other nations with similar history or ideals.

heres another example of normal citizens possilbly being labeled terrorists..

"An endemic crackdown on peaceful protest and dissent has continued with President Bush signing the 'Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act,'. Under the guise of protecting researchers, scientists and their staff who conduct experiments and tests on animals, the latest terror bill seeks to class as "terrorists" those who seek to protest against such activities."

Doesn't surprise me in the least! That's classic Bush righ there! And I guarantee their will be some usual naive defense tactics thrown out to back bush and his wonderful administration. It's like these people are deaf and blind!
