I went to the surgeon yesterday and he told me that things are healing ahead of schedule. By the way, I got off everything but I know the EQ was in my system for a while. He said that usually a person has to wait 4 months before the tendon is as strong as it needs to be but he said that my body has made so much collagen that the tendon right now is where most people are after 3 months. It's only been two months since the surgery. He said in another month I can start doing things like normal but just not heavy stuff right away. You should feel the difference in my two tendons, the healthy one is real thin compared to the repaird one and he said that's normal because the body will produce way more collagen that it needs to hold it together until the cross fibers fully develope. He did some flexibilty tests and some strength tests and said I'm way ahead of the game. My calf is coming back pretty fast too. The scar is more limiting than anything. I feel like I can stretch further than I am but the scar won't let me. If I push it too far, which I have a comple times, the scar will tear. It sucks to be healing and have the scar be holding me back. And, because I've torn it open and I can't put any of that scar stuff on it to speed up the process. At least, that's what they tell me.
So, good news for me! LOL
