"sedition act" I am suprised Bush didnt try and re-inact this unconstitutional peice of work. an infringement on our freedoms...right up his alley..
OK. Here's what I don't understand. And everyone try and follow me here:
You say "I am suprised Bush didnt try and re-inact this unconstitutional peice of work. an infringement on our freedoms..."
However, in somewhere like North Korea, if you speak out against their leaders, you are killed. No questions. Boom. Shot dead. So people say "Well, we're not North Korea. We're better then them."
OK. How did we become better than North Korea? Or Iraq? or Iran? Look at these countries. You can't sneeze next to their dictator without being killed. We have these freedoms that we take for granted because of us being a super power. We are a free country. Other countries hate that. You can come out an say "George Bush is a homo piece of shit!!!" if you want. And you won't be prosecuted for it. Because we have freedoms we fought for. So the very war that everyone speaks out about is the same reason that you have the liberties to come out and speak freely. In a time of war, I don't care wether you are for or against the war. Just remember we have our men and women in other countires fighting. News travels back to them from loved ones and relatives. They are over there risking their lives in a war that people are speaking out about, and it must make some of them feel like "Wow. We're not being appreciated by our own people for being here." That was one of the purposes of the Sedition Act. Not to slience our lovely freedom of speech, but not to demoralize our troops in a time of war.
Again, you can be for or against the war. That's fine. But when you speak out about how wrong it is, the soldiers may feel demoralized.

Iunderstand not demoralizing the troops, but even the majority of them dont support Bush or Rumsfeld..thats bad...these generals (ex) are not speaking out against the war or troops, they are aginst the policy or plan if you will that the cuurent administration is using...which is doing nothing but making it worse
I can't wait for the "Steelersedition Act" to be put before Congress. It will make it illegal to say anything bad about Roethlisberger. I'm voting to shoot that phuquer down 10 minutes after it makes the floor.
