I say FTDS and just draw and quarter them in public. people are just pussies about the death sentences they approve of in the first place. somebody brutally kills someone and is sentanced to death...but how can we do it in good taste ? WTF is that ? where in the world do they feed ya steak and lobster before they kill you ? then strap you to a soft bed and put you to sleep ? in private yet !

my family started to talk last night about the whole thing, and got into a conversation, so I want to see what some of you think about the situation... so Saddam is being hung for the 1400 people that he killed or what ever number it was, now the question that came up is should someone be held responsible for the firebombing of Japan and the 100,000 innocent people that were hurt or killed in that? is it hypercritical to say one deserves death and the other does not?

Of course not! According to military experts, if we would have continued with the attack using ground soldiers, Japan would have lost over 500,000 people and we would have lost an expected 300,000. Dropping the bombs saved more lives than it killed and everyone knows that. Just think about it, how much longer do you think the war would have lasted? Also, keep this in mind, two days after Japan signed the peace treaty a boat from Germany was abducted carrying two jet planes. Germany was sending the planes to Japan so they could copy the technology and have an advantage over us. Just try to imagine if we didn't drop the bombs and they received those jet planes and were able to have air superiority to us. There would have been at least a million more people die because the war would have dragged out so long. Oh, and don't forget, Japan attacked us, where as the people who Saddam killed did nothing to him. We had no beef with Japan what so ever and they attacked us for no reason. They picked a fight they shouldn't have and suffered the consequences. When you retaliate an attack, it's called self defense, when you start the attack its called assault. One is illegal the other is not and that's the difference.

There is a difference between collateral damage during a war and specifically targeting civilians.
