I only fear letting down my God through my failures.  By failures I mean knowing better and acting out anyway.  
You're right in that our interpretation is based upon our philosophical or religious beliefs, but only to an extent. Even though I've been brought up Christian, I still have a free mind. I question things regarding religion on a fairly regular basis, but like I said before, there is just too much out there that points to there being a deity. Take for example the truely spiritual people of many faiths, they have done and experienced things that are utterly unexplainable outside of a connection with the Spirit or "force", lol!
So you believe that theist's are simply fooling themselves and/or hiding/denying the truth from even themselves? Sorry buddy but this doesn't make sense to me.

  It is weird to look back on the situation from my perspective now and realize how indoctrinated I was, that I feared to think about anything that opposed my christian beliefs, in fear of letting down my god.
