Reading this makes me feel like a dirty s#it bag. this is why I dont tell anybody I have HIV. first they ask me, am I gay, or have I been raped in jail ? do I shoot dope ? then they kinda look at ya like,...hmmm,..he doesn't look gay. or he isn't a withering 90lbs with black circles under his eyes. then start trippin' cause they shared a joint or took a swig off a bottle after you. See, it's not the disease that kills ya.. its all the other bullshit that comes with it.

Do you really have HIV? If so awesome you have the balls to post it. It is pretty shitty how people freak out, you're still a human being. See but yeah I kinda freaked when my buddy told me he had herpes. I asked all these questions and probably made him feel like shit. I hangout with him all the time and the thought never crosses my mind now. They never have visable breakouts or anything and are very normal people. I guess being around someone with an STD changes your thinking on it.

Im to much of a health freak, so Id have to say NOPE!!! I have sev friends, one with herpes and two girls I know with HPV, there still my friends and awesome poeple but I aint trying to stick my pee-pee in them.

isn't the ? kinda hard to answer because you asking about two different types of herpies? one is sexually transmitted and the other one is just a cold sore....

if some one has a cold sore once in while which is the herpies virus no big deal to me... now the other one yes i think i would pass

True, a good friend of mine from Philly has full blown AIDS now, was positive for over 10 yrs. and hit walls everywhere he turned as soon as someone found out he was positive. You'd think that as long as the disease has been around, and all the info out there that people would get over all of the bullshit.

Now back to the topic here, if I were single and this hottie was all on my jock then I'd pop thos blisters and use the ooze of lube baby!

True, a good friend of mine from Philly has full blown AIDS now, was positive for over 10 yrs. and hit walls everywhere he turned as soon as someone found out he was positive. You'd think that as long as the disease has been around, and all the info out there that people would get over all of the bullshit.

I just assume anybody might have something. aside from my bad blood, im more afraid to catch somethin' now then I did back in highschool... and with all the talk,...tens of thousands of "straight", "clean", black and white, male and female "health freaks" are STILL getting infected as we speak. If I met a fine girl, got to know her and we were extremely compatible as far as core beliefs go and then I found out she got herpes because her ex cheated on her, or because of some other reason that didn't undermine my idea of her character. It wouldn't deter me! A person of fine character is worth a hell of alot more, than the risk of getting herpes.

I agree!!!!..I was getting pissed with this thread..especially Tman's comment. Sorry.
I contracted mouth cold sores when i was a CHILD, they say passed in casual contact probably from my dad because he's had them since he was a child. I was tested to see which strain it was....Herpes 1 & 2 is pretty much the same virus..just depends on where it hibernates in the body and you need to be tested to find out which one you actually carry because you can have either in either area! A lot of people do not know that one.

I have to say this as well..I was with my ex for 16 YEARS and he never so much as got one cold sore so I do not believe they are contagious as they want you to think, only when they are actual sores and if the other person has an open cut on his/her mouth for a way for the virus to get in, but that's just my opinion from experience. No boyfriend I ever had ever got one that I know of either...but I am VERY careful....if i even think i may be getting one due to stress or being sick then I start my meds and no kissing or oral at all (I take prescription meds they use for genital herpes just a lower dose is needed).....I haven't had one in YEARS either, the virus does go into a type of hybernation and if you know what triggers the outbreak you can stop it. I know for me it's stress and if i am sick with a fever.

People with herpes should stay away from peanuts and almonds and anything else with alot of arginine as the virus feeds on that, so I can't even take that supplement for fear it will cause the virus to come out of "remission"..they say L-Lysine helps keep it under control but I didn't find any difference. Also with herpes, they say the outbreaks lesson over years.

Do you honestly think I like getting cold sores and like to go out in public when i have one...NO!! They are ugly and they hurt and i never asked for it, it just happened!! So....for you to judge a woman (or man) because they have a cold sore just makes me sad and very angry.

I also researched that if you have one strain, you can not catch the other one since it's technically the same virus, just hibernates in a different part of the body but you can pass it to your partner in either area.

I debated whether to confess, but this just pissed me off...
