Virus help please?

The computer not me guys sheeeesh!

I opened some window today by mistake and now my puter is messing up. I keep getting this little window in the lower right hand corner that says System Alert malware threats. It says something about a trojan and that my credit cards and all my personl info are at risk. Oh and I can get rid of it by paying them to remove thier shit. I think its bs but how do I get rid of these pop ups?

If you have an HP reboot hit f10 on startup and go into recovery mode. delete everything and reboot to factory settings.

If you have anything other than HP go get a not so well known spyware program at somewhere like best buy. Well known programs usually don't work because hackers put stuff in the virus or spyware that makes it infiltrate and render the software useless.

Eh I cant afford to go buy software right now. Porn sites are popping up now. This is pissing me off. I think its from myspace. Yeah I know but its a good way to keep in touch with my brothers and sister along with the rest of my family. Had some random girl in a skimpy outfit ask to be my friend, when I clicked on here profile....all hell broke loose. Havent had a popup in a while since I have Firefox, this sucks.

Dude that's serious shit! When they do that through myspace, they are hijacking your computer. They then get all of your passwords they can pull off of your computer and hijack your accounts, your credit cards, and your identity. That's serious shit. STOP USING YOUR COMPUTER UNTIL YOU GET IT FIXED. IT WILL COST WAAAAAAAY MORE TO GET YOUR CREDIT AND LIFE CLEARED UP FROM IDENTITY THEFT!

Well got it fixed for now. I dl'ed a free software called AVG anti -spyware. It removes trojans, adware, spyware and whatever the thing is where they can see your key strokes. Anyhow it removed 7 trojans and like 497 infected files. Awesome huh? It even removed this virus that a computer repair guy said he couldnt get off thats been there for about 2 years. It was just a thing on startup that said blah blah blah and made a loud tone when it popped up. Nothing really but still annoying.

First of all regardless of what popular belief is, how do you know you can trust a program from some free site? For all you know it can be another hacker getting rid of the trojan or malware from the previous hacker, and downloading his own stuff into your computer. Then he now has access to your info...credit cards, passwords, personal data.

Rule # 1 is you don't trust any online sites unless you are absolutely 100% positive they are a legitimate company.

I don't think you understand the severity of someone stealing your identity. It's not something to play with. People can commit crimes in your name then you'll get arrested for it. It happens a lot. Not an easy mess to clean up. For the few dollars it will cost to fix this the right way, I'd spend that money now.

Like I've said before go to somewhere like best buy or office depot and get a spyware program, virus program, and if you don't already have one a firewall. DO NOT GET WELL KNOWN PROGRAMS. The first common mistake people make is they think hackers are easily duped. Hackers are not stupid therefore they think ahead. They make their viruses immune to the more popular programs out there in hopes to hit a more broad number of computers. It's all a numbers game.

Rule # 2....Don't believe everything you read. Many places that favor certain programs usually are getting paid thru endorsments or advertisments to say that stuff. You need to read the programs yourself and make an educated guess.

Lastly if all else fails get your reboot disk and delete your entire hard drive and start off fresh! Then make sure the new setup has good spyware, virus control, and a good firewall!

Ok, to be serious, you need to use your system restore. All you have to do is go back in time to the day before you downloaded this. This is why I use System Suite because it has a Recovery Commander. Anytime I get something I don't want, I just backup to the last date (prior to the download) and it's gone, 100% gone.

If you can't afford a program, go to edwido.com or .net and get that. It's free. However, you have to clear the stuff out of your registry or else it will never go away. If you don't know how to mess with your registry, then you need to avoid that option and have a professional do it.

Another great thing about System Suite is the Net Defense Firewall, anytime my pc starts to connect to the net or trys to download anything behind the scenes a window will pop up and ask me if it's ok. If I click 'no' it kills the download. Since using this feature I have never recieved a virus on accident. I did download a phony directx thing once and it did what yours is doing. Well, not all the porn sites but it kept popping up stuff about my system being in threat and all that so I just went back in time and it was all gone.

First off you need your ass kicked for not having any anti-virus program on your computer. And really the best programs are NOD32, KAV and AVG. But only use one anti-virus program.
