Re: how much do you pay for your gym fees?

$74 a month for family. We get two pools, racketball, basketball, indoor track, hot tub, 75 pieces of cardio and a 20,000 SF weight room. This is by far thebest YMCA I've ever seen. They have Hammer Strength, the DB's go up to 150 lbs, they go up in 2.5 increments until you get to 50 pounds and they have double of all the 5 pound increments up to 80 pounds so you never have to wait. And, the great part is, there isn't anyone hardly in the weight room. Most of the people in this area are older so they do cardio and classes. There are less than 50 hard core weight lifters that train there.

It used to have a piss ant little weight room when they built it but the membership grew so fast that the members complained about it and they added 40,000 SF on to the building. Half was the new weight room and half is a multi purpose room. The old weight room became the cardio room and they bought a lot of new cardio to fill that up.

With that said, I've yet to see another YMCA worth the $74 a month. Most have crappy no name equipment, dumbbells go up 100 lbs if you're lucky, there's usually one bench and one incline and stuff like that. I can't speak for all the YMCA's but that's just what I've seen persoanlly.

$30/MONTH at private hardcore key gym. Gym is very much how Westside is, both in equipment and membership.
