Dog the Bounty Hunter Arrested, Facing Mexico Extradition

Oh, no! My pal Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, was arrested by U.S. Marshals today on an extradition warrant out of Mexico for his actions in apprehending since convicted multiple date-rapist Max Factor heir Andrew Luster.

In 2003, Chapman traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to retrieve Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term. The Chapmans were jailed in Mexico for a brief time for the incident three years ago. Bounty hunting is considered a crime in Mexico.

Dog's wife, Beth Chapman, said 12 armed marshals "came through the door" at 6:00AM this morning. She said they took their daughter's boyfriend down at gunpoint. Dog was sleeping at the time. TMZ spoke with Nicky Credic from the U.S. Marshals Office. She said, "The arrest warrant was signed by a U.S. magistrate in Hawaii on September 13. The warrant was based on a formal request based on a diplomatic note from the government of Mexico."

Free Dog! He did a great public service in apprehending the fugitive Andrew Luster. The Mexican authorities had it in for him. See this 2003 CNN article.

Yeah, i remember reading about this Max Factor heir Luster. Apparently he lived off funds provided by his family fortune. Lived basicly like a beach brat and met women at night at clubs, used the date rape drug and took them home, video taped them while he was doing it, actually narrating it step by step. Pretty disgusting dude.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter Arrested, Facing Mexico Extradition

I am actually friends with Leland. I met and Duane a few years ago when I used to bounty hunt out in Long Island, NY. I haven't talked to him in about 2-3 weeks but the updated news I have read is that they are not in jail now and out on bail. They have electronic devices attached to their ankles so they don't leave the state, yea like really planned on a getaway. And they have to face a court in Mexico probably in the next month or two. This is all complete garbage, this case is over 3 years old, I can't believe Mexico is this upset over this when we took a serial rapist off the streets and god knows what else that mofo did down there while he was in Mexico on the run, prolly killed a few people as well. Duane knew right where he was with the tips he received from inside people and caught the bastard. They say it's possible they could get up to 8 years of prison time, damn that would be so ****ed up. But I think what the Mexican government is upset about is the fact that Duane, Leland, and Tim did not show up for their court date in July of '03. But still I can't believe the US government would allow and grant this, bunch of ****ing scumbag piece of shits. We give Mexicans a great place to live, jobs, etc. And we the Americans go down to areas like Cancun and give them incredible business, and this is how the Mexican goverment thanks us?? If they go to jail, we'll have a lot of bail jumpers on the loose causing crimes, selling drugs in Hawaii and other states, ain't nobody as good as the dog and crew to catch these lowlifes. I'm going to give Leland a call later on today to get the updates.

Leland's phone is turned off, wonder if they can even use the phone. They're probably getting tapped on everything they say and do.

Re: Dog the Bounty Hunter Arrested, Facing Mexico Extradition

this sounds like a PR move by mexico to get back at the USA for wanting to close our boards to the mexican overflow. they will try to use this to reopen the boarders with us so more illegals can come over and take our jobs that nobody here wants due to low wages.
although i only watched a few shows, dog was pretty cool and did a great service by putting criminals back where they belong. he was also very compassionate and many times he was just trying to get the bad guys to do the right thing and get off the drugs that were screwing up their lives. it was more to him than just arresting bad guys, it was also about trying to save their lives from ruin if possible and giving them a second chance if it may do some good.

I doubt anything will stick, I think they just want to show their asses.
