I remember the lowest I paid for gas back in high school was 75 cents.

Lol, i remeber this well. I can remember filling up my Mustang for $8. Ppl used to cruise alot those days.

Isn't it amazing how prices have dropped since it is the end of summer?
Less driving for vacations and other family trips. Suddenly there is an abundance of gas!
Just wait, winter heating season is comming and guess what, heating oil and gas will be in short supply. But amazingly just a winter will end, there will be a large supply available again.
It's just a racket by big oil for more profits in there pocket.
I'll place a bet with anyone here that by next spring, when traveling season starts again, there will suddenly be a shortage of gas again and prices will climb back to $3.00 or above.

I still wish there was a way to boycott oil companies. I still dont think it is right that they posted record profits directly after Katrina. No one said much about it either? They are going to arrest the dude selling ice for $5 a bag but oil companies gouged the whole damn country. We are so reliant on oil they have us by the BOYZ!!!!!!!

Yeah tell that to the stupid hicks in Florida!!! Everywhere I drive these idiots have SUNOCO stickers on their cars or trucks because it is the official gas of Nascar. STUPID HICKS!! These uneducated morons don't get that they are openly supporting one of the companies that is screwing them as much as possible. These companies rape them at the pump, so they advertise for free for them, because they advertise with Nascar!!??!! What morons! No wonder Bush is our leader. With idiots like this it's only fitting to have someone like Bush leading this country! TRULY SICKENS ME!!!!

Dude you can't be that young. In 1997 gas around the country was under $1.00! I remember in 97 the lowest I paid was .84 cents a gallon. Now just short of ten years later and the prices are more than triple that!!!

But gas prices will always be high from now on because the majority of americans are to stupid and naive to accept the fact that we are being taken for fools by the oil companies and our government. Congress passed a pay increase for all of themselves to offset the rising cost of gas. Gee must be nice to give yourself a raise since prices are rising. What about the rest of us?? I think that should be illegal. If they are having a problem with the cost of things they should have to do something about it. Not give themselves a raise and say F-off to the rest of the country! But still there will be so many people in this country that stand by the fact that there's nothing our government can do, which is why nothing will ever be done about it!!

dude...i freely admitted, it might have been the acid that made me forget!!! lol. we had this conversation at work the other day, and i really dodnt remember what the price was when i was a kid....i put in gas, got a pepsi, chips, jerkey, smokes and probobly gave the guy 5 bucks...who f*ckin cares?? it'll never be there again! wages increase, there's pensions to pay for worker retirement's (not productive to the company anymore) and people are living longer. everything's gone up!!! do i think oil companies engage in a little "proffitiering"..yes, i do. but, dont be nieve enough to believe prices wont raise....come on bro, your smarter than that.

It's $3.07 here, when I go to the valley for class I can fill up at $2.85. these a$$holes try to tell me that it's the oil company, and the distance to deliver. same company,..different store miles farther, and cheeper. these douchepails up the price every weekend and holiday ! so dont give me some s#it "it's not us" story I tell'em.
