It keeps going blank by itself. I thought the pc was going into sleep mode at 1st but it comes back on for about 30 seconds when I turn the monitor off and then back on. This is all of a sudden. Its a Planar 21 inch flat. Not too old, maybe 3 years?

Originally posted by Fit2bLargeyou have to reboot the flux capacitor. Planar monitors require 1.1 gigawatts of electricity. The capacitor gets filled so the scuzzy control can't take all the electricity, thats why it turns off

on a serious note - check the surge protector, swap it out with another one in your house and see if it gets better. the flux capacitor thing was a joke, but its not far from what could be happening. Unplug the monitor from power surge and check the cable itself.
anyone been playin with the settings on the monitor itself? no on the PC, but the little bottons on the monitor itself. sometimes a combination of presses on those buttons turns on/off features. worth checking.
how old is the monitor? btw, Planar monitors are cheap for a reason...

Originally posted by supasaiyan99Once it starts doing that, you are on the way of needing a new monitor. You can try adjusting the refresh rates in the display settings.
I tried taking it out of the surge protector and just using it in the wall outlet too and it was good for about 15 mins and then the screen went blank.
Guess I'll just buy a new desktop and monitor while Im at it.
