i was thinking about going into cullinary artts i love to cook but i have been told by many chiefs if i enjoy cooking for a hobby don't do it for a living cause its hot and you will never want to cook outside of work!Comment

I worked in lots of kitchens,..its hard work but very rewarding to me. If you have ever seen Hells Kitchen ? thats pretty much what it can be like, if you have a good lead chef on your line. you cant just do things half assed, and you have to have good timeing and handle pressure. If you have the chance I say go for it !Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

i wanted to do that... but i dont like that high stress..
i would like to have my own restaurant where i create the menu, but i dont have to run the show.I'm Just an old chunk of Coal, But I'm gonna be a DIAMOND some day.

my mom has her diploma as a chef
in fine cuisine, pastry and chocolate
but she never practiced, my father didnt want and at the time female chef were frown upon

The fast pace is a rush ! I miss it in a way,..probally do it again if I found a good place. unfortunately the health department wont let me even scrub urinals.Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

Food service is good or bad depending on where you work I feel.
I`ve done it. At fast food chains and classy spots. If you`ve got a hook-up for work, I say go for it.Comment

I'm sick of what I do now and when I retire... I plan on going back to school... I love cooking... actually cook gourmet meals for the wife 5 days a week... she loves it and it's become a passion of mine... thought it might make a great career...
