What was the best advice you've been given

In business or in life? In my business (nursing home), my best advice was from my grandfather "Treat every one of these residents and their families like they were your family". It sounds pretty elementary but you'd be suprised at how easy it is to caught up in the day to day. I make it a point to visit and sit with my residents on a daily basis regardless of mental status.
In life I'd say "Always keep your word", again a very basic thing that should be a given, but unfortunately so many seldom do.

lots and lots of great advice the main one i wish i would have listened to was stop phucking up in school and pay attention and finish college i got a good job but i got lucky and i feel that i could be better at it if i had finished college!

Be kind to everyone because you never know who your next mentor is.

2 things....
1. when i started in the car biz. (it's a family thing, grandpa down, all men in the family) my dad said "you dont have to lie to sell cars. be honest, straight forward, mean what you say, and say what you mean and remember, you can only give people your word, so dont phuq it up!"
2. when i was young, (teen) my dad used to say " you cant soar with the eagle's in the daytime, if you run with the turkey's all night!"

She's an old Mexican woman with a lot of good sayings that ring very very true.

My grandmother told me once, "Never put the cart before the horse"
I try to never think too far ahead as to what can be if certain things need to be done first in order to get there!
