im getting them out today... this is gonna suck. i love food way too much. not to mention im gonna be hurting for a couple days. im so sick of surgery. this will be my 4th time going under and this is the most minor one. im not even 23.
well wish my luck, the up side is i get some good pain killers.
i had them out about 2 months ago. wasn't that bad. i had some gas goin for a while, it more or less just relaxed me..made me more tired than anything. then the doc came in with a couple vials and was like "ok, these are gonna knock you out" i said "ok" so he injected the first one...nothing, no big deal. then he injected the 2nd one, damn! lol. within a matter of maybe 10 seconds, i woke up an hour and a half later,lmao. i was pretty numb and a lil dissoriented when i woke up, but i wasn't swinin' or anything. i got home, watched tv (was hungry as phuck!) but toughed it out and took me 5mg of percs and felt a lil better. i kept passing out uncontrollabley from the shit they gave me in my IV and the perc,lol. i would just be sitting there and all the sudden start snoring. i'd wake myself up with my own snoring,lol. the percs helped for sure, had to get a refil a week later cuz my shit was still irritated. he was apprehensive about giving them to me, he said "you know, we're supposed to ween you off of these, right?" i said "look man, i'm no addict. i just need it for the pain, ibuprofen ain't doin shit!" so he gave me the refill. took about 3-4 weeks for my mouth to be fully functional. also, try and get the dissolvable stitches, that way you don't have to go back in there. thats what i had and within a week and a half or 2 weeks, they were gone.
also, if you wake up and your tongue is really sore, you probably stopped breathing. thats what happened to me. for about 2 months...yes months, after i had the procedure, my toungue would always get this tingly feeling and be painful and numb at the same time if that makes any sense. well i asked the doc about it and he told me i stopped breathing for about 20-30 seconds and my tounge kinda rigor mortised on him, so he was pressing down with his thumb and index finger something fierce to keep it from closing off my airway. thats why it hurt so bad for so long. even now when i brush my toungue while i brush my teeth, it still feels weird.

Mine were all impacted and I had to be put under..they had to slice my gums to get them out.....but i liked them little pills he gave me after

Its always different for everybody. My gf had one out that had already broke through the gums and she swole up like a chipmunk with a cheek full of acorns. I had all 4 of mine removed and they were all impacted underneath the gums and only swelled up a little bit for about 5 hours or so. Then I pulled 4 of my stiches out while I was brushing my teeth.

i had all 4 taken out today, the knocked me out with soduim penethal (sp) so i had an iv and it was like general anestetic. it was more a twilight. i was kinda awake and kinda out. all 4 were impacted and i have the dissolving stitches. it hurts a lil and my mouth is still numb. i just want to eat solid food and i doubt that is gonna happen anytime soon. thanks for the replies. ill let ya know if i have any more questions or amazing insight on the whole process.

That sounds familiar. I did the same thing except I was craving a burger from O'Charley's and some of their rolls. LOL The pain pills kinda dulled my tastebuds but it was still damn good.

i was numb for like 9 hours after i left. i would have eaten through my cheeks and swallowed my tongue. ill try some semi-solids tomorrow. im craving pizza and burgers now thanks. (cough, cough, assholes, cough) lol.
i got em removed at teh age of 20, all 4 at the same time and 2 of em were infected and they have to cut my gum and extract the damn tooth and i was on vicodin for one week and i was fine and ohhh i was eating jello only
