As you can see the RS4 is dead even with the M3 in 0-60. Barely noses it out in the 1/4 mile. And has a lower top speed than the M3. The RS4 is twice the price on top of that. So basically bay $50k for the M3 put $10k for mods which brings you to a total of $60k and you would have an M3 that would walk all over the RS4!!! Plus you'd be saving $20k for either a cool boat, bike, or to blow on strippers!!!
well done, nicely said .way to finish the line fatality DJDIGGLER wins ! So it looks like you test drove a few and the bimmer feels and looks different just the way I thought it be, so much hotter ass with the bimmer .....awesome
"Workout each rep till I drop the uglyiest , meanest face"
Here's an unrelated car topic that would probably shock you. The 06 SLP modded GTO I drove Felt like it would walk all over the new C6 Vette! Those things have a low 4 second 0-60 time! But still neither was a Bimmer!!
Ok, well not to brag and act cool or anything my brother in law drives BMW M3 04' and he got owned by 93' Supra without any mods or nothing..
.
Got owned by s 93' Supra? Are you sure the Supra wasn't modded? I know Supras are fast, but so are the M3's. I think it was based on the driver more than the car.
HAHAHAHAHA! Audi's look like freaking Volkswagens!! An RS6 would not kill any BMW. Anyone that says that has obviously never driven both models. Granted Audi's are ok they are no BMW.
#1 Consumer reports gives them black dots all across the board, all models, all years. That doesn't mean it's quality. It means it's problems!!!!
#2 Audi's don't have the same prestigious feel that a BMW carries. It feels and looks like a sporty Volkswagen.
#3 The resale value of a Audi does not compare to that of a Bimmer.....Do some research and you will see this.
#4 Women in general are more impressed with BMW than an AUDI! Go and ask 20 women and see what they all say. Guarantee majority of them would favor for the BMW. So BMW = More hot chicks.
#5 BMW handling is absolutely amazing. I've driven cars that are used in autocross and a stock BMW handles better than some highly modded autocross cars I've driven.
#6 The look is so much sleeker, and so much more defined.
There is no comparison to a BMW, unless you have owned one you have no clue. I've driven every car you can imagine.....Corvette C5 & C6 coupe and ragtop, 06 fully dealer modded SLP GTO, WRX, SRT4, BMW's, Mitsu's, Mercedes, Volvo's, Mustangs....and many many many more. I go once a month to every dealer around to find cool cars to drive just to see what's new, what's fast, and what beats what. I have to say that NOTHING compares to the feel of a BMW. A BMW is just a different feel period.
If that isn't enough reasons why to choose a BMW over an Audi then I don't know what is!

Audi RS6 is close to 500hp can go up to 190mph and its listed as 200mph on speedometer.
I drove BMW M3, M5, S4, RS4 S8 and BMW is just garbage I'm sorry.
Okay now your just talking trash!
#1 a 93 Supra's stock 0-60mph was 4.9 and a M3's stock is 4.8 so obviously your brother in law must not know how to drive as good as the other driver.
#2 To claim BMW is garbage is just a stupid comment. What do you have to back up that statement? Atleast they don't look like $20k Volkswagens! Sorry I can't say the same for an Audi!
#3 Why would you bring up a Toyota Supra anyway when we are debating Audi vs BMW? If you want to stray from the topic my 04 Silverado 5.3 V8 stomped on an A4 1.8T. Pretty sad that a work truck ate that thing up like it was a yugo! If your going to argue a point for audi don't bring up other brands it's kind of pointless!
#4 Like mentioned before if BMW is such garbage how come it's reliability, Resale, and Overall ratings were nearly perfect (all red dots) according to Consumer Reports but Audi's had a horrible rating (all black dots)? Those are unbiased reviews that are not paid by advertisers.
#5 Below is a list of Drag times from people all around the world. The majority of the numbers are legit as you have to include timeslips to prove your numbers. Below is a list of your mighty A6 then the following link is a list of M3's. I'll be accepting my award now.......
OH BTW IF YOU GO THROUGH EACH NUMBER ON THE DRAG LINKS I PROVIDED YOU'LL SEE THAT THE STOCK RS6 WAS DOING A MID 13 AND A STOCK M3 WAS DOING A LOW 13...............................Hook line and sinker!
I dont know everyone has their own taste. I have a shop here close to my place called European Collision and the guy always tells me they get problems with BMW's all the time.. constantly.
I have a 2002 M3 and I absolutely love it. I love the handling, acceleration, brakes, high speed stability (140 mph+) and the overall driving dynamic of the vehicle.
What I don't like about my M3 is the interior fit and finish. It is good and has great leather but there are some interior issues that are costly to repair when out of warranty. Unfortunately, these issues are recurring and basically a design/materials flaw.
I also don't like the fact that the service and parts are ridiculously priced. Basic maintenance will run you about $1300 every 25k miles or so. Tires are $1400 about every 15k-20k miles. But, this is the price you pay for performance (high performance = high maintenance). They don't say BMW = Break My Wallet for nothing. Hell, if you can afford the car you should not have to worry about paying for the maintenance.
Hell, if you can swing a new 6-series (specifically the 650)...GO FOR IT! The new 6 is sweet and pretty fast to boot.
A bit of advice, don't buy a car with others in mind. You don't want a girl who wants you for your car. Those are the kind of girls that you treat for the "person" that they are.
Buy a car for the looks and driving experience. Dependibility is a BIG plus too.
Speaking about dependibility...BMW generally does better than Audi on the Consumer Reports surveys.
If you are concerneed with dependibility you want a Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura. Unfortunately, they don't offer anything new that holds a candle to the M lineup or the RS/S lineup that Audi offers.
That is the only reason I got into my M3 is because it offered everything I wanted in a car and Honda/Acura/Toyota/Lexus had nothing to offer me that was new/newer. If Honda or Toyota were to offer something that matched or exceeded the performance of the M lineup I would be all over it in a heartbeat.
Sorry for the novel. Can you tell I am a gear head, or what?

There are three types of people in this world.
Those who can count and those who can't.
Kdogg have you ever tried tirerack.com for tires? My wife bought Kumho Ecsta's for her Bimmer and paid under $400! I bought the same tires for my truck that has 330hp & 350lbs tq and the tires barely break loose if I floor it from a complete stop. Plus the tires handle absolutely amazing beating out 95% of the tires three times the price. Look into it and save yourself money.
As for the maintenance most stuff they charge you $1300 for you can easily do yourself for under $200. Just buy a book and save yourself boatloads of cash. Then you can spend it on supplements.......

Some BMW are known for the problems they have. For exemple the 324/524 TD in the 90's where known to break their cylinder head. The problem was resolve with the TDS series. I have only heard of diesel engines having problems. I have driven a 520I (150Hp on a small 2L!) with 200k miles, the engine worked like a new one, the owner didn't have any problem with it.
A friend of mine bought a brand new M3 last year, for now I haven't heard anything bad.

Btw nice choice on the M3!
Hope this helps you....
I know there are less expensive tires out there. But, once you drive on the Michelin Pilot Sports on the M3 it is hard to use anything else on this car. They are great in the wet (it rains a lot where I live). I have tried a lot of tires on a lot of different cars and Michelin has the competition beat in many cases. Unfortunately, they come at a premium.
Man, I wish I had the time because I can do the maintenance myself. When I was in college I had all the time in the world and was building and swapping engines, setting up drag cars, and dyno tuning cars for extra money.
The M3 has been pretty good to me with the exception of the interior trim issues. Some of the S54 engines needed a recall performed where the rod bearings are replaced (clearance issues). Other than that they are pretty solid.
This damn thing called work keeps getting in the way of the good stuff in life. I need to talk to my boss about this.

Audi has a horrible record on fiability, as with BMW, they play more on their name and the "prestige" of the name instead.
In the same range as the M3 S4 and whatever, you have the S60R, who is quite interesting, more for less money, yes you will lose short time in the 0-60 to the M3 and S4, but with the rest of the money you can do what you want. Also you have Italian optional leather, who is pretty neat where in the BMW you pay 3000$ in option for pathetic leathering.
I was supposed to buy the S60R, but bought a truck instead.
I am looking at the A8 for next year, but the Audi fiability scares me, I dont want to visit the dealer every weeks. In the BMW I am looking at the M6 and M5, but for an everyday car they are kinda useless in the snow here, so the Audi takes the lead.
I think I would go with a Cayman instead of the two other germans.
MAybe a Benz, SLK AMG or something that range. My gf's grand mother, he neighbor bought one, pretty nice but I dont fit in it!
Last month the pop in law bought a CLK, ****ing 18$ in options, sheez
Good Call 3vandoo! I sat in the new S60R and those seats were more comfortable than anything I've ever sat in in my entire life! Plus everything was designed just right. Very sleek car, and top of the line safety. Honestly the only argument I had with the S60R is the fact the window is up high and I couldn't comfortably put my arm out the window, it's cause the door panel is too high whereas the seat is real low. Being that I'm almost 6'3 this shouldn't be a problem for me. This seems to be a problem with Volvo's as my wife's S40 has the same problem. But besides that it's one badass car I'd love to buy!
Plus if you buy one brand new they fly you to Sweden free to tour the factory and use your car on the autobahn and such before it gets shipped to the states. Cool stuff!
