i don't know why people still think north korea does not have the technology to reach the US, they have had it for some time.

Yes, the estimated range of the Tap-II missle would reach parts of the US but that missle will only be carring a conventional high explosive warhead. A Bio-Chem warhead is a possibility but not nukes. This is what pisses me off about the Bush administration`s repeated cries of "N. Korea being able to hit us with nukes".

It is hard to make a nuclear bomb. Simple ones look like the airconditioner units on top of big office buildings.

Do you realise how much harder it is to design a nuke that is lighter than 600 kilos, and perfectly cemetrical so that you can stabilize it in a missle flight?

Bear in mind that the US and Russia had both missles and bombs for about 20 years before they had a viable nuclear missile delivery system. The threat of a nuke attack on US soil by N. Korean missiles is at least a decade away. At the very least, there is no threat of such at this time. I hate the way that the Bush administration tries to scare the public about this.

I remember being briefed when i was Going to go to Osan afb in korea, and they told us that if North korea invaded, there would be MILLIONS of deaths in the first seconds of the war in the south......

Trust me. This area, esp missile tech, is very familar to me.

Making a missile ready nuke is really tough. Remember that many missiles spin slowly during flight to remain on target. Now a convential warhead is easy, you make a bomb and place the explosive, detonator on top of one another so when they spin the outward force is equal in all directions. But a Nuke has all kinds of componnents that don`t counter balance with eachother. That plus the Tap-II missile is only about 50 cm wide up top where the warhead is. So hold your hands out in front of you about two feet apart and ask yourself if N. Korea who is in the infant (bomb looks like airconditioning unit on top of office building) stage of nuclear power can suddenly minaturize that technology to 50 cm across, drop weight to less than 600kg and perfectly counter balance all components.

Ha ha ha.

Make a bomb? yes. Make a nuke missle? those punks imprision most people before they have a chance to go to school and become brillant, their scientific base is WEAK. Forget it.
