      It actually predates the RCC, it comes from the book of Rev. (written before any organized Christian religion.) Some believe that "666" as in the Antichrist is presented as a Roman ruler (caesar). 'Nero Caesar',
      written in its seven Hebrew consonants (transliterated as 'Neron
      Kaisar'), give a value of 50+200+6+50+100+60+200, which adds up to
      666.
      On Satan being the bringer of light, from what I remember he was supposed to have been a Heavenly angel (of light) and then later cast into Hell. Then again it could just be how AOM described, he got wasted and turned evil from a bad trip. lol!
