I realy weight 135lbs and never used a dumbell in my life.
Bro, i got first hand experience on this one. Like i said before, 2 repairs within a year back in 93 and 94, one on each side. The hard area you're feeling is simply scar tissue healing. Even after you're declared "healed" by your doc you'll feel it for maybe a year. It will definitely regress and not be as hard but folks like us here who are so in tune to our bodies and the way they respond will be able to tell something was done in there. The depression, yup i had that too. I felt like i was never gonna be able to lift again and if i did i'd always run the risk of injury again. Knock on wood, 13 years later, nothing happened. It WILL be ok GJ. You will come out of this and go back to as good or betterthan before. PM me if you are still bummed amigo.
You may not recognize your mom when you get home, I shaved her back.
I don't have an ego, i just love how awesome i am !!
Keep your head up GJ! Injuries suck, we rest, repair, get better, and back on the horse. For now, concentrate on diet and rest. Start planning your routines and setting your goals. You'll be back before you know it. Keep us posted. we're family here.
GJ, use this time to plan the next year of your workouts, take it thru your preferred periodization method. Use the time to study. Use the time to plan out our meals. And, most important, eat with perfection.
I had surgery on my legs and was out for a while. Since I couldn't go to the gym I turned into a slob, eating everything. That made it much worse. Eat clean and keep the protein up so that you don't lose yoru nutritional foundantion. It will make the come back that much easier
Good Luck,
Cheers

Lord, make me strong, and let the weak find comfort in my strength.
I had close to the same feelings when I got mine repaired GJ. Even now I can still feel the mesh screen and titanium screws that they put in me. It was very strange feeling at first, but now i hardly even notice it, and my surgery was back in sept. of last year. Just wait a while before you train with weighted abs, that is one thing that can make it an extremly long road to recovery if you over do it. Everything else will come quicker than you expect it though.

Just as a side note, anywhere there is an incision from an operation there will be a hardness to the touch untill it is completely healed. It can take the body a yr to heal completely after an operation, even though they say you can go back to normal activity.
