how to feel. be happy or sad. my son as some know after 3 trys got into the NASCAR TECH INSt. This school cost 27000 for first 14 months.. he is quartineed a job starting out around 70 k a year on avg. He just decided that hew wasnt sure if thats what he wants to do so he dropped out came home and is gonna goto a 4 yr school near me. It is kinda nice having someone here with me since i live by myself but i hope he is doing right thing!

That job would be awesome for a select few people. I love nascar racing but those guys on the crew or in the shop put so many hours in there never home. I like being home with the family. It's more of single man gig.
What type of degree is he wanting from the school near you?Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups

I think you should be happy. He needs to find what he wants to do with his life to be happy. It's not always about the money. It's about what makes you want to get up every morning rather than be like the general population that dreads getting up because they hate their jobs.Comment

Don't know....I surely wish I was making 70k a year!!! But then again for the amount of work I do, I think I'm over paid!!! lol

If I came home after my ol' man dumped 27k on me to make 70k+ a year in after only 14 months, I'd probally be taking classes on how to turn a wrench while having my ass in a sling..... People have worked all their lives and will never make money like that, or spend three or four times as much on a four year bulls#it degree to make less than that. j/m/oLeaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

Be happy for him. He has decided that job is not what he wants out of life, for whatever reason. And now he is pursuing something that presumably he does want to do. That is good, whatever the salary.Comment

All too true... my wife ran into a similiar situation where she decided to take the fast cash - now she's driving futher to work everyday, hates the people she works with and hates the job in general. Like Mick-G mentioned... the money will come later... he needs to find a career that he's going to enjoy - regardless of the pay... JMO.Originally posted by mick-G
