I'm interested in seeing some of your thoughts. Do you believe that there is a creator? I don't necassarily mean limited to the God of the Bible, but intelligent design in general similar to how Dr. Hawking suggests. Do you believe that any organized religion has gotten it "right"? What do you feel is the whole point of it all?

That is a tough question.... There has to be some type of higher power out there.... but its hard to believe absolutely on something you know nothing about.

i dont think any organized religion has it "right"....they all have elements that lend to creating a better world.... but no one is "right".... if any... i would say some of the eastern religions seem to atleast be less hypocritical. and server to better the individual as well as society.

My thoughts are this. We exist. Our goal is to maintain that existence - survive. We create the idea of god to ease our anxiety about our death and the death of loved ones. The idea of god also offers companionship and eternal, omniscient justice, a couple of comforting thoughts. Organized religion is deception in return for comfort and individuals who have Ph.D's in theology and maintain faith are either really good at lying to themselves, didn't study or are intentionally decieving people for money.

I have concluded I don't know.

thus, I focus on doing stuff to be happy right NOW, if there is a god and he gave me all of this, best guess is that is what it is for, to be happy right now.

agree with lxorl on eastern religions, i vote with the buddhists
