I think Ping is kind of a streatch, but MS word spell-check identifies it as a word. So, I've got that going for me, which is good

From Random House Webster's College Dictionary (c) 1991
Ping (ping), v., pinged, pinging, n. - 1. to produce a sharp sound like that of a bulet striking a sheet of metal. - 2. a pinging sound [1850-55; imit.]
There are typically more ways than one to skin a cat. So, whats the SNO word. I think I have a good idea, but I'll see what CJ comes up with.

My grandfather called 'picking' a string on a violin near the pegs, pinging.
I 'ping' my violin sometimes
Creative word string, by the way
If you come across another, give us a challenge!

But, I don't think that is enough. It needs to breakdown to 1 more word.

I'm almost afraid to straighten you out because at least now ElCid has a chance to get a word in edgewise! *lol*
j/kElCid *tickles you*
I'll use your Snowball word as an example.
Say the game is Snowball & you set the decomposure@ 3.
You hafta keep the original word {snowball} in tact as you remove letters to create smaller words.
As you remove letters, they are permanently eliminated.
Snowball
Snow

Ball
