I agree.....that's just as bad as the Napolean McCollum injury on Monday Night Football several years back....those types of injuries are awful

I had a similar injury playing basketball, pickup game with older guys. I was in the air and somehow a HUGE guy's leg came up and shattered my leg in the air. It was a compound fracture of my tibia AND phibula. Came through the skin, ruptured veins, blood on the floor. It was the most frightning, cause my leg didn't seem attached, painful experience ever. Everytime I see injuries like that, I cringe.

The scary thing about Theisman's career ending injury was that people on the sidelines said they could hear his bone snap. LT said as soon as he landed, he heard a distinctive "snap". That's why he ran over to get the Redskins medical staff on the field. I'm still looking for Chuck Bednaricks career ending hit on Frank Gifford. If I find that video, it makes Theismans injury look like a flesh wound.

It's VERY loud, everyone in the gym heard it. It's like breaking a large stick. Very loud snap.

i got kicked in the face playing soccer when i was 16. I was the goalie. I shatterd the right side of my face.... luckly it was a head injury and i dont remember any of it, or any of the pain... i can only imagine breaking a leg like that.

I was 4 rows from the endzone where he got hurt. It was a goaline situation so there was all kinds of helmets cracking and screaming going on. Still, the sound of his leg snapping was louder than any of that. Then his screaming silenced the crowd....it was pretty nasty.

If anyone can find the Bednarik hit on Gifford, PLEASE post the link here. It was fuc*ing nasty! It ended Giffords career. Still THEE nastiest hit I've ever seen in Football. The only thing I could find was the famous photo:
