Of course a bunch of die hard christians are going to use any creative writing they can think of to alter people's thoughts. Just another way to follow the machine, just fall in line!
yeppers I read it. Although I am a Christian, I've never just followed anything blindly. My problem with the book is that there are so many people, not necassarily you, that try to point to this book as 100% accurate and attempt to disspell Christian beliefs.

Yeah, I read the Da vinci code, blasted through it in a day, then got hooked and read his other three books before the school week was out.

Gotta exercise the mind too, right?

Your definetely right kite. You never should take anything for text. Especially the bible. That book has been around for centuries. What's to say that it hasn't been misinterpretted or misconstrued in anyway? Like Dan Brown points out in his book, his character actually says that your supposed to look at the symbolism in the bible. He isn't dispelling the bible as a whole, or saying that it is 100% false. He's simply saying that a lot of the bible is half truths, and only one side of the story, and some of it is false. If you think about it, he mentions in the book how only the victors right the history books. That is very true, if someone is killed or pushed into hiding how are they supposed to let their side of the story be known?

The problem with the bible and a lot of devout christians of modern times is that they take everything for text. They don't see things in the bible in a symbolic way. That's a very dangerous thing, because the whole point of the bible is to give people idea's on how to live their lives, and how to be a good human being.

Just like your arguing now, most people believe every word they read. Obviously I'd be an idiot to believe every word in "The Da Vinci Code". But the same goes for any book including the bible, anyone that believes every word in it is not to bright. Don't forget that book was written by mortals, not by gods!
