    Re: Just Curious.......

its not like we are aborting the featuses just for stem cell research.

why not take advantage if it is going to happen.

as for the rest of the post... i agree except on the stem cell issue.

most of the evil in this world is comitted in the name of god.... its sad how something intended for good is basically the root of all evil.

If they are harvesting the cells from an aborted fetus, then in my opinion, it should not be allowed. However, if they could get these cells from other sources, or even syntheticly, I'd say go for it.

I am on your side DJ....

i dont like other people telling me what is right or wrong based on a book written many moons ago. Who wrote this book anyway... im sure they were not pushing an agenda (sarcasm)

The way i see it... why bring an unwanted kid into this world.... this world is overpopulated anyway.. .maybe GOD invented abortion as crowd control!! lol Makes more sense to me to pay 300$ for an abortion thatn 300,000 to raise an unwanted kid in foster care. I konw that not every unwanted kid ends up living a miserable life... but more times than not this is the case.

And PL...... saying christianity is the only religion is the narrow minded attitude that causes all the problems in this world. Jesus would laugh at you for thinking like this.

No offense to the religious crowd.... in my religion everyone can think the way they want, but not push their views on anyone. enjoy your religion as you please just keep it to yourself, until someone asks your opinion.

Never did I say all babies would be delinquent and a drain on society. But if you want to be technical, there is a deliquencey stage that all kids go through. So open your mouth and insert your own foot.

What do you do in life that makes you so righteous to tell others what to do? I guarantee if I video tape your life 24hrs a day I'll find many things you do wrong. So until your perfect stop telling others how to live their freaking life!

By definition a baby is a parasite. It is not a symbiotic relationship, besides an emotional value the baby offers nothing in return to the host.

I, however, as I have stated ad nauseum, believe that a baby is a gift from God. I believe abortion is murder. I believe that we as a society should protect the unborn--the most innocent among us. Obviously you people do not have children. If you did, you might think differently, maybe not. Look at the statistics. These "incest and rape" pregnancies account for a microscopic number of abortions. As I said, the vast, vast majority are simply abortions of convenience. I have heard of women having 3 or 4 abortions. Thats called irresponsibility and state-sponsored murder. I hope that the newly appointed supreme court will take up this issue and overturn roe v wade. This law is a throwback to a great period of mora decline in our country---the 60's and 70's.
3 or 4 abortions? If your wife takes birth control she's probably had at least that many. However that is not irresponsible - it is responsible.

Oh yeah, I have a three year old son and I love kids but a 2 minute old conception is not a kid.

In Christianity, Birth control is not recognized. The only reason you should procreate in christianity is for the purpose of having a child, or the chance of having a child.

            Re: Just Curious.......

Since everyone seems to be dodging the question of when life begins, I'll supply a few of my fav. quotes.
Dr. Alfred Bongioanni (University of Pennsylvania):
"I have learned from my earliest medical education that human life begins at the time of conception."

Dr. Jerome LeJeune (University of Descartes):
"after fertilization has taken place a new human being has come into being."

            Dr. Hymie Gordon (Mayo Clinic):
"By all criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception."

Dr. Micheline Matthews-Roth (Harvard University Medical School):
"It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception"

            Human Embryology 101
Fetal heart begins to form 18 days after conception

Measurable heart beat 21-24 days after conception

Fetal brain begins to form on day 25

Brain waves produced by 6 weeks

I had a quick sonogram and then received a shot of methrotrexate. After the shot, I came home... I went to bed that evening around 9 p.m… I continued contracting and bleeding most of the night. Around three in the morning, I went to the bathroom. When I stood up, I noticed that the pain and the pressure was not from clots, but from passing the placenta. When I looked in the commode, I saw laying in the center of the placenta my baby. I saw the baby's perfectly formed hands, the little fingers. I remember the scream that came from my mouth... [from a 7 week abortion] (Char, "I used to be Pro-choice...But…")

            Scientific Conclusions:
            Human life begins at conception

Human development proceeds rapidly (all organs and systems are in place by week 8)

            Abortion stops a beating heart

Most abortions occur after the fetus exhibits measurable brain waves

              Re: Just Curious.......

Interesting posts. All have great points. But heck, all I wanted to know was if Jesus would be happy or unhappy if he walked the Earth today. If we could all talk to Jesus, and he could answer us back in a human voice form, what would he say to us at everything that was going on around us. If we could ask Jesus, "Lord, what do you think about aetheism, what do you think about keeping prayers out of school, what do you think about homosexuality, etc...." I believe he would say "It is not for you to judge. Let me judge, and you do what I told you to by love one another."

He'd probably say "Stop killing in my name, stop twisting my words to justify doing whatever you want. If people don't want me in schools.....fine, I can't be forced into anyone's heart, it's up each individual to accept or deny. Start thinking through the eyes of love before you act. Read my book once in a while. Talk less and listen to the silence, that's where I am." Just a thought.

I think he would say it weeping! The giver of life being cast aside by mankind is very much a sad thing. Without Jesus, there is no eternal life.
