Bartenders make the bulk of their money from tips. thats all i know....

It can be fun, but you have to be able to tolerate intoxicated people because they're the ones paying your bills pretty much. My ex was a bartender, my current GF's ex is a bartender, and I have a few friends who are bartenders too.

Never been a bartender but I've worked the other side a couple times working security at bars. Head of security I know made the same as most of our bartender's. Probaly about $1100 a week. On packed nights the bartenders in the good bars inside the establishment made better money obviously.

Worked as a bartender (part time ) for several years.
It can be fun,but can also be very hard work at times.
If you're with a good bar and have a core clientel, your income can be pretty good. I averaged around 600.00 a week part time.
Get the books, study and take a class if available.

As long as you got some self control, its a blast.

I played in bands for years and played in bars.

Alot of bar owners bend the elbow alot, and thus lot's of employee's get away with it also.

If you don't drink the punch it's fun work for the most part.

Only part I didn't like was at the end of the night was dealing with folks that had one to many, not cause I minded, I just be way behind, lol, I'd never take a drink until right before the last set, thus, I was able to handle the money, pay everyone, take care of all the expensive gear without any problems.

I was told that if u take a class u get tip certified. that means if someone leaves ur bar and crash, u r responsible. if u r not tip certified, u r not responsible....i think

pfft..i dunno if they make all the money, but i've spent ALOT of $ in the bars, and alot of tip money to many a bartender!!

did it for a little while when in school...I usually pulled in a few hundred bucks per night in tips...usually the girls gave me more LOL

Did it for a week not worth it I got paid sh*t that is why I went into bartending during that time
