I'm just about sick and tired of the pressure the media puts on individuals to spend, spend, spend in order to please your valentine. This is great for those who make plenty of money to blow on diamonds and shit like that, but what about us guys who have next to no money because of school or other priorities?? It makes me feel 2" tall sometimes, and its crap that a holiday should make someone feel that way. Society has become one big materialistic conformity to how we should celebrate or indulge.

oh most definitely.... my husband refuses to buy anything that day..we usually go to dinner and then rent a movie and cuddle or talk ....then go to bed early......it's the quality of time spent together that counts in my book!

I hate it when holidays are shoved down our throat.. Valentines and Christmas are commercial holidays any more. It's all about the dolar any more..I say FUCK MACY'S!!!and Mayors and Kay and the rest of the ones that use holidays to do nothing but promote sales.Comment
