I think electric is still higher than gas ByRon, but i would consider it, but then id have to switchout my furnace, and how efficient are they?

Have had both type of heating units. Gas is definately more efficient.
Heat pumps are fine if you live in a fairly warm winter climate,but once the temp drops below about 30, the heat strips tend to kick in to keep the unit defrosted. this will send the little wheel on the meter spinnig out of control.

Thats waht i figured, cause alot of ppl use them in the south, but i don't know of anyone that uses them in the north e or w.
